DTS doesn't offer much in the way of driving excitement, but that's not what it's designed for. As a large luxury sedan with emphasis placed on comfort, it's a success for the most part. The finicky transmission, a few ergonomic gaffes and my issues with the navigational system tarnish an otherwise fine sedan.

It's hard to fault DTS. No it isn't nimble and no it isn't trendy. It's a big, American luxury sedan built to satisfy traditional tastes with modern conveniences. Kudos to Cadillac for sticking to its guns on this one.

It's doubtful Cadillac is going to lure upscale younger buyers to the DTS, and some of its features might befuddle older drivers. In base form it's a high-value land yacht, but many options add both great expense and needless complexity.
