2006 Acura MDX: Overview

Revised interior trim for the top-line model heads the short list of 2006 MDX changes. This SUV shares its underskin design with the Pilot from Acura's parent company, Honda. But MDX seats seven passengers instead of eight and has slightly less cargo room. It shares Pilot's V6 engine but has slightly more horsepower at 253. MDX comes with a 5-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive without low-range gearing. ABS and antiskid control are standard. So are front side airbags and curtain side airbags that cover all three seating rows and include rollover deployment. Base and top-line Touring versions are offered. Both come with leather upholstery, heated front seats, and sunroof. Touring includes a hands-free cell phone link and is available with DVD entertainment. It's also available with a navigation system that includes OnStar assistance and a rearview camera.
