At $50K plus for our tester, I'm starting to think this vehicle is overpriced. Still, I really like all XC90s for their comfort and use of space without being too big. The V8 just adds a top option that I'm sure many buyers will want.
Mark Bilek
Small third-row seat and odd controls handicap this luxury SUV. However, overall it is pleasant to drive, roomy for five, and very garagable. I don't think the V8 is worth the added $5000 given that the power isn't much more than the turbo six.
Rick Cotta
The V8 cures one of the XC90's worst ills, that of turbo lag suffered by its other engines. But the V8s added cost--along with the vehicle's obscured visibility, jerky low-speed throttle tip-in, and drab interior--place it a good distance behind the Acura MDX and Lexus RX in terms of value.
Tom Appel
If you're lucky enough to shopping in the $50,000 SUV aisle, this is a nice one. The interior doesn't scream luxury, but it's comfy.
