Year to Year Changes
2006 Mercury Montego/Sable:
For 2006, a DVD entertainment system was newly optional for Luxury and Premier models, while a navigation system arrived as a Premier-exclusive option.
2007 Mercury Montego/Sable:
Satellite radio was newly available for 2007.
2008 Mercury Montego/Sable:
The 2008 Mercury Sable returned as a more-powerful, restyled version of Mercury's Montego large sedan. All models used a new 260-hp 3.5-liter V6, which replaced a 203-hp 3.0 V6. A 6-speed automatic transmission was standard; Montego's continuously variable transmission (CVT) was dropped. Other revisions involved front-end appearance, suspension tuning, and interior trim. Also available was Ford's Sync voice-activated interface for cell phones and MP3 players.
