2005 Dodge Neon: Overview

Neon retires after the 2005 model year, to be replaced during calendar 2006 by the '07 Dodge Caliber, a compact 4-dr wagon. Neon, a 4-dr sedan, closes out its run with SE, SXT, and high-performance SRT-4 models. All have a 4-cyl engine. SE and SXT have a 2.0 with 132 hp. The SRT-4 has a turbocharged 2.4 with 230 hp, along with a limited-slip differential. SRT-4 comes only with manual transmission. SE and SXT offer manual or optional automatic. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes are standard on SRT-4, optional on the others. Traction control is not available. Front side airbags are optional. The SE has 14-inch steel wheels. The SXT has 15-inch alloys, the SRT-4 17s. SRT-4 gets specially tuned sport suspension and brakes, sport seats, a 160-mph speedometer, and racing-inspired polished-metal pedals. It also includes special body trim, including a hood scoop and rear spoiler.
