For the 30 grand of our V6 AWD tester, I'd slightly prefer a Ford Five Hundred AWD with its better visibility, ride, and room. But the Ford's CVT transmission has yet to be proven in real-world driving, making the 300 a safer--and perfectly defensible--choice.

Chrysler's excellent 300 is a much better value with the surprising 3.5-liter V6. Our tester had every option I would want and cost just over $30,000. However, side curtain airbags should be standard at this price, not a $590 option.
