At about $19,000 as tested this LS is an interesting mix of economy and sport. I could do without the buzz from the powertrain everytime you step on the gas and the rear seat needs more room, but this is a vehicle I would recommend to someone without reservation. Something I couldn't say about Cavalier.

Interior is aesthetically more pleasing than Cavalier's, but otherwise, Chevy's smallest seems to be treading water. Rear-seat room is tight, and the engine should be returned to the tractor it was plucked from. Still, Cobalt is a pleasant-enough car that seems a good value for the money, particularly once the inevitable dealer discounts and rebates kick in.
