Vehicle Highlights
Unchanged for 2004, this American-built SUV shares a basic underskin design, V8, and automatic transmission with Toyota's full-size Tundra pickup truck. Sequoia is larger than Toyota's Japanese-sourced Land Cruiser, slightly smaller than a Ford Expedition. SR5 and uplevel Limited models return with 3-row seating for eight. Both offer rear-wheel drive or 4WD that's usable on dry pavement and includes a locking center differential and low-range gearing. All models have antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and an antiskid/traction-control system. Self-leveling rear suspension is optional, as are front torso side airbags and head-protecting curtain side airbags. An available DVD entertainment system includes rear audio controls. Limiteds have 17-inch wheels (vs. 16s) and other features that are optional for SR5s.
