Vehicle Highlights
Five hundred special-trim Bravadas help close Oldsmobile's run as America's oldest automotive nameplate. GM discontinues the brand at the end of the 2004 model year, and the final batch of each Olds model gets Collector Edition embroidery, wheels, and badges. Bravada shares a basic design with the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, and Isuzu Ascender. It's a 5-passenger wagon with an inline 6-cyl engine and automatic transmission. Its Chevy, GMC, and Isuzu siblings offer a longer 7-passenger version and a V8 engine. Traction control is standard on 2WD Bravadas. All-wheel-drive versions lack low-range gearing. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and 17-inch alloy wheels are standard. AWD versions come with a coil-spring rear suspension and charge extra for the load-leveling rear air suspension that's standard with 2WD. Front side airbags are optional and include head protection for the driver. Curtain side airbags are unavailable. DVD rear entertainment and power-adjustable pedals are also optional. Bravada's performance and accommodations mirror those of like-equipped Rainiers.
