Vehicle Highlights
Dodge's full-size sedan shares a basic design with Chrysler's Concorde and 300M but has different styling. It comes in base SE, uplevel ES, and sporty SXT trim. The SE uses a 200-hp 2.7-liter V6, the ES a 234-hp 3.5 V6. Building on ES models is the SXT version that has a high-output 250-hp 3.5 V6. SXT versions share a 16-inch wheel size with the other Intrepids, though of a unique design. All Intrepids have a 4-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel disc brakes are standard. ABS is optional and, on the ES, includes traction control. Front side airbags are optional; side curtain airbags are unavailable. Front bucket seats are standard, but an optional bench for the SE permits 6-passenger seating. Intrepid will be phased out in Spring 2004 and replaced by the new rear-drive 2005 Magnum (see next report).
