Vehicle Highlights
Chrysler's midsize line consists of sedans, convertibles, and coupes. The sedan and convertible share a Chrysler platform and use Chrysler powertrains. The coupe takes its platform and powertrains from Mitsubishi's Galant and Eclipse. The convertible body style is exclusive to the Sebring line, but sedans and coupes have Dodge Stratus counterparts.
For 2004, sedans and convertibles get revised front styling; coupes continue unchanged. All Sebrings offer 4- and 6-cyl engines. Coupes offer manual or automatic transmission. Sedans and convertibles come standard with automatic; a manual had been available in the GTC convertible until midyear. Chrysler's AutoStick automatic transmission with manual shift gate is available on top-line coupes and convertibles. Also at midyear, LX and LXi model names were changed to base and Touring, respectively. Head-protecting curtain side airbags are optional on sedans. Front torso side airbags are optional for coupes. The convertible has no side airbags. ABS and traction control are standard on the Limited convertible and optional on all other Sebrings but the base coupe.
