Powertrain Options and Availability

Subaru's 2.5-liter, horizontally-opposed four-cylinder engine came in regular or turbocharged form. In X and XS models, it produced 165 horsepower, whereas the turbocharged dual-overhead-cam version in the 2.5 XT model developed 210 horsepower.
