Trouble Spots
Consumer Guide's® Auto Editors have scoured repair bulletins and questioned mechanics to search
for commonly occurring problems for a particular vehicle. In some cases we also give possible manufacturer-suggested
solutions. In many instances these trouble spots are Technical Service Bulletins posted by the manufacturer,
however, we have our own expert looking at additional vehicle problems.
Automatic transmission:
The shifter may not always move out of park, even with the brakes applied, due to a rubber anti-rattle pad malfunction, requiring the installation of a revised pad. (2001-02)
Engine noise:
A chirping or squealing noise may come from under the hood when the engine is started due to a slipping serpentine belt and an improved part has been made available. (2002-04)
Trunk latch:
If the trunk is opened while the convertible top is opening or closing, the top must be manually opened or closed then the trunk must be shut. (2002)
Vehicle shake:
Engine vibrates at idle due to worn engine mount stabilizer and/or engine mount. (2002-04)
