Large, clear gauges. High- mounted audio and climate controls are easy to reach. But outward visibility is hampered by thick roof pillars and, at night, by dark tinted rear windows. Lots of plastic detracts from cabin decor.

Seats too soft for ideal support, and a floor hump intrudes into passenger foot space. Not as spacious as Ford Explorer, but adequately roomy.

Head room is good, but leg room is not generous and seat is too hard and short to provide much comfort. Small door openings spells subpar entry/exit even in 4-dr models.

Only midsize SUVs to offer two tailgate styles, both with independently opening upper glass. We prefer the liftgate to avoid stretching over a drop-down tailgate to reach into the cargo hold.
