Trouble Spots
Consumer Guide's® Auto Editors have scoured repair bulletins and questioned mechanics to search for commonly occurring problems for a particular vehicle. In some cases we also give possible manufacturer-suggested solutions. In many instances these trouble spots are Technical Service Bulletins posted by the manufacturer, however, we have our own expert looking at additional vehicle problems.
Brakes: The original-equipment rear brake pads cause a humming or moaning noise, especially when the brakes are hot or warm. (2000)
Brakes: When warm, the front brake pads may cause the front end and steering wheel to vibrate and shake. Countermeasure pads are available. (2000)
Climate control: Due to insufficient tension on the pivots, the shut-off doors in the dashboard may close when the blower is set on high. (2000)
Engine knock: Engine knock, especially when cold, may be due to carbon buildup in combustion chambers. (2000-01)
Horn: If the horn becomes difficult to operate or sounds by itself in cold temperatures, the airbag module will have to be replaced. (2000)
