Our automatic DX hatchback test car averaged 29.1 mpg. An automatic EX test sedan averaged 25.8 mpg. Our test Si averaged 26 mpg on required premium fuel; other models use regular.

There's some choppiness on freeways, especially in the firm Si, but Civic's smooth, absorbent ride sets the small-car standard.
