Solidly built and impeccably finished, the TL equals or exceeds anything in the near-luxury class for quality and refinement. It also has a sporty nature that will please demanding drivers but may turn off buyers who expect Lexuslike isolation. Overall, the new 5-speed transmission and standard side airbags make the 2000 TL an even stronger Best Buy.
