Hot on the heels of introducing its Murcielago LP640 Coupe, Lamborghini displayed a convertible version of this high-performance supercar at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. The Murcielago LP640 Roadster is built from a tubular steel structure with lightweight carbon fiber components. All body panels, except the removable roof panel and doors, are made of carbon fiber.

The LP640 is powered by a 631-horsepower, 6.5-liter V12 engine that teams with a six-speed manual transmission. Power gets to the pavement via an all-wheel-drive system. All LP640 models have a revised instrument panel versus the standard Murcielago. Buyers can customize their vehicles with special fitting and upholstery packages to suit their tastes. The LP640 Roadster arrives in dealers this spring and will likely cost more than the $350,000 the LP640 Coupe commands.
