Kia amped up the wow factor at the Detroit Auto Show this year and ventured into a territory unexplored by Kia's production vehicles: the sporty crossover. The South Korean automaker unveiled a crossover SUV concept, dubbed Kue. Unlike other Kia concepts shown purely as design exercises, Kia promised that a version of Kue will see the light of day in 2008.
Kia's purpose in presenting Kue is to show how crossover utility can be blended with performance styling. Its sleek, angular body sits on a 114-inch wheelbase, measures 186 inches in length and rides on 22-inch wheels. Minimalist in design on the inside, the cabin is highlighted by red ambient light and is split into 4 separate passenger zones, each with a bucket seat. Details are slim, but look for Kue's production offspring sometime next year.
