Is Acura filling the space left in its lineup by NSX's 2005 departure? The concept unveiled at the Acura stand forecasts that a sports car will soon reclaim its place in the Japanese automaker's lineup. Called the Advanced Sports Car Concept, the coupe's Detroit unveiling follows Acura's debut of its Advanced Sedan Concept at the recent L.A. Auto Show.

This front engine design exercise features an all-new V10 engine, Acura's most powerful to date and retains subtle NSX design cues. Its long hood, short, wide deck, and low cabin give it what Acura calls, a "keen edge dynamic." It rides on a 108.8-inch wheelbase and 19-inch wheels in the front and 20s in the back and features a rear-drive based version of Acura's all-wheel drive system, Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.

Acura reps hinted that we will soon see this concept in production form as the next-generation NSX.
